A sizing chemical that has been well accepted in the industry. It is a benchmark chemical for standardization of similar chemicals available in the market. However, with the advancement of technology it has been excelled by newer generation chemicals for manufacturing superior quality paper to meet changing market needs.
- Dynasize has the following unique advantages which contribute to the quality and economy of internal sizing of paper.
- It is a ready to use liquid which avoids cooking and other related processing at the mill, hence easier in handling and dosing.
- Produces a size precipitate that has a potentially low surface energy and thus high water repellency(Very important for an efficient sizing).
- Retention and distribution of
Dynasize precipitate is more uniform on the fibre surfaces.
- Because of the low free energy film it produces with alum, the film stays fixed on even though fluids are brought into contact with it.
- Exchanges ions with carboxyl groups(abundantly found in Indian pulps) resulting in liberation of colloidal rosin which increases the sizing efficiency.
- Unbleached Sulphate pulps can be better sized with
Dynasize as it is more reactive to sacharinic acids(resulting fromalkaline pulping and anionic hemicellulose) than conventional sizing chemicals.
- Dynasize is more resistant to higher stock temperatures and agitation.
- Does not undergo premature agglomeration by polyvalent ions.
- It fixes on the cellulosic fibres in a well oriented manner during the web drying, resulting in more uniformity in sizing.
- Imparts shade and brightness stability which is very important for fine papers.
- Is very resistant to high initial dryer temperature which is detrimental for other forms of sizing chemicals (In case of machines with limited drying capacity)
- Is compatible with all types of pulps, paper making systems and retention aids.
- Can be used for batch or continuous mode of dosing.
- Has unlimited shelf life. Is biologically undegradable.
