Arjun Chemicals was established in 1989 as a Joint Venture With Akzo Chemie GmbH, Germany to manufacture initially Rosin based Sizing Chemicals at Ranipet, Tamilnadu. . Akzo Chemicals fusioned in 1995 with Nobel Industries of Sweden to form Akzo Nobel B.V in Amsterdam. Arjun continued its cooperation with Eka Chemicals AB, Sweden , a division of Akzo Nobel to produce Alkaline sizing chemicals, Compozil, Nano particle retention system, Catrosin size and many other chemicals until 2015 when Akzo Nobel divested its Paper Chemicals business to Kemira Oy, Finland.
